Those of us with siblings, especially older ones, can attest to the influence they had on us growing up, for better or worse. For today’s Neighbors in Action, Current State speaks with the Director of Development at Big Brothers, Big Sisters for the Michigan Capital Region Jesse Klinger, as well as Chris Gabler, a senior at East Lansing High who has been with his Big Brother for 10 years.
Every Wednesday on Current State, we bring you Neighbors in Action, a look at an area organization working to make Greater Lansing a better place.

Today we’re taking a look at Big Brothers, Big Sister of the Michigan Capital Region, which serves Ingham, Eaton, Clinton, Ionia and Shiawassee counties. Their mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.

To learn more, we talk to the organization’s Director of Development Jesse Klinger and Chris Gabler, a senior at East Lansing High who has had his own “Big Brother” for 10 years.
