On today's "Current Sports with Al Martin" we highlight Claressa Shields making boxing history, yet again. The Olympian boxer from Flint, MI becomes the first female to headline a premium network boxing event tonight on Showtime in Detroit. Al comments, while also reminiscing on WKAR's coverage of when Shields returned to her hometown after winning back to back gold medals in Rio De Janeiro.

Also, Al provides updates on the wild overtime win for Michigan over Purdue at the Big Ten Tournament in Washington, D. C. We talk with Connor Clark, "Current Sports" production assistant, and MSU men's basketball beat writer for The State News. Clark joins us LIVE from D. C. to help preview the MSU/Minnesota game.

The show closes out with Al's thoughts on NFL free agency, specifically the drama around the franchise tag of former MSU QB Kirk Cousins and the Washington Redskins. LOADED SHOW! Enjoy!
