On today's "Current Sports with Al Martin" we highlight the first of its kind ceremony. The NBA Awards Show last night took celebration to another level. Starting off with the event's display, tune in to catch the funniest moments  and all juicy details that range from joy to awkwardness. Al praises the league MVP, Russell Westbrook, for his year with 42 triple-doubles and goes down the list of other candidates. Then, Al reels off some other highlights and winners from the night, and engineer Isaac Constans lavishes praise on Bill Russell, the NBA Lifetime Achievement honoree. Defensive Player of the Year and MSU alumnus Draymond Green is recognized, as well, and a caller adds onto the analysis of his defense. Then, famed Michigan State fullback Bob Apisa, a recent inductee into the Michigan State Athletics Hall of Fame for his contributions to the 1965-1966 championship teams, is on the show. Apisa tells what his enshrinement means to him, but also why more people than him from the team will symbolically enter the Hall of Fame. He also touches on the current condition of MSU football as the show winds down.
