Michigan State football held its annual media day event yesterday, and there is no shortage of storylines today on "Current Sports with Al Martin." Al describes the motifs for the season ahead: youth, breaking down the year into manageable components and recovery. But don't just hear it from us; hear it from the horse's mouth. Head coach Mark Dantonio and numerous players attacked those matters head-on, and Al explains why he has what some consider an "optimistic" expectation for next year. Engineer Isaac Constans tells of his interactions with quarterback Brian Lewerke and running back L.J. Scott, who was not shy about expressing his thoughts on the team. Then, in quick procession, Al squabbles with Isaac about his indifferences to the premier of HBO's new season of "Hard Knocks," and Lansing City Futsal comes to the studio after knocking on the door of a national championship. Owner and player Jeremy Klepal is on set following a trip to Baltimore, where they finished third in the playoffs. He describes his team's incredible season and looks ahead to what's on the horizon. That's exactly how Current Sports ends, by setting the scene for next show.
