The brand new documentary, "Making it: Latino students' pathways to college" will be screened at WKAR studios at Michigan State University on November 14 at 4:00 p.m. It shows how the students of migrant workers are pursuing education and their dreams at a Detroit high school and the campus of MSU. The public is invited to attend.

According to the Michigan Office of Civil Rights, Michigan ranks fifth in the nation for migrant workers. They come here every year to pick and process crops, reforest trees and much more.
Wednesday, November 14 at 4:00 p.m. at WKAR studios on the campus of Michigan State University, we will screen a brand new documentary exploring how migrant children in Michigan leave the hard life behind to pursue higher education.
It’s called "Making It Latino Students pathway to college" and includes perspectives from MSU students.
WKAR's Reginald Hardwick talked with documentary producer Sarah Rand via Skype from Chicago. And Felipe Lopez Sustaita, who was featured in the documentary. He is the son of migrant workers but grew up to earn a doctorate's degree – the first student from MSU’s special program for students of migrant workers. He is currently the Executive Director Of The Hispanic Latino Commission For The State of Michigan.
