If you’ve found yourself passing through Lansing City Hall these past couple of days, you may have noticed a treasured piece of the city’s past. In the lobby now sits a 1901 Curved Dash Olds Runabout. It will be on display there through October as part of a new exhibit entitled “Made in Lansing.”

The collection celebrates 125 years of manufacturing innovation that’s taken place in Michigan’s capital city.

Current State was joined by the leaders of the two organizations co-sponsoring “Made in Lansing,” Valerie Marvin, president of the Historical Society of Greater Lansing and Bill Adcock, executive director of the R.E. Olds Transportation Museum. Marvin said the items came from barns, basements, the historical society’s collection and private collectors that began collecting over 40 years ago.
