The 2014Detroit Regional Chamber Conferenceon Mackinac Island is winding down. The Michigan Public Radio Network’s Rick Pluta has been there for the duration and he provides us with a recap of what has been a fairly eventful conference.

Pluta says that one of the more controversial topics brought up during the conference was civil rights for LGBT citizens to be considered for inclusion under theEliot Larsen Civil Rights Act. However, he said that Governor Snyder will most likely tackle Michigan road funding and figure out the state’s role in the Detroit bail out before any legislation is decided on LGBT rights.
