No, you're not dreaming. Governor Rick Snyder is preparing to sign a road funding measure for Michigan. Current State talks with Republican House Speaker Kevin Cotter about the features, and the criticism, of the $1.2 billion measure.

More than four years after he first urged action on the issue, Governor Rick Snyder is finally preparing to sign a $1.2-billion road funding measure for Michigan.

A bill that passed both the House and Senate will raise half the money from existing general fund revenue and the other half from a hike in vehicle registration fees and the state gas tax. The measures were approved by razor thin margins in both chambers.

Opposition from Democrats was nearly unanimous. Current State speaks with Republican House Speaker Kevin Cotter, who was a key figure in getting the measure passed.
