In 2010, the Third Battalion, Fifth Marine regiment deployed to Sangin, Afghanistan.  Nicknamed the “Darkhorse Battalion,” the Three-Five was sent to patrol a region of the country known as a Taliban refuge and a center for the opium trade.  During the deployment, the battalion achieved a somber record.  That single unit suffered the highest casualty rate of any in the Marine Corps.

One Marine who made it home was Logan Stark.  He documented his experience and those of his fellow Marines in a new film called “For The 25,” named in tribute to his 25 comrades who were killed in action.  Stark is in the Professional Writing Program at Michigan State University.  He discusses the experience of making a film about his time in Afghanistan. Joining  him are the film's co-producers, MSU students LexiDakin and Rebecca Zantjer.
