Our Election 2013 coverage wraps up today with Lansing mayor Virg Bernero’s opponent,Harold Leeman Jr.Leeman is a former member of the Lansing city council, where he represented the city’s first ward for 12 years. He was president of the council for the last two years he served, and then narrowly lost his seat on the council in 2007. Since then, he’s lost races to regain the council seat, and also campaigns for the Ingham County Board of Commissioners as well as for the state House.

In August, he finished second in the primary election, behind Bernero, and thus won the right to challenge Bernero for mayor.

Leeman says Lansing's neighborhoods have been neglected by the Bernero administration.
