The Michigan legislature has begun its election year session. The body will reconsider unfinished business from 2013 including an expansion of the Education Achievement Authority and road funding. It will also dive into new discussions on energy, and how to address another budget surplus.

The Michigan Public Radio Network’s Rick Pluta says a big story this week came from the MIRS newsletter. Former state Treasurer Andy Dillon is still being paid by the state despite having resigned from the post.
