The Michigan State football team was beaten by Brigham Young University at home on Saturday for their third straight loss, while the Detroit Lions snapped a three game losing street by beating Philadelphia. We look at the weekend in sports with WKAR's Current Sports host Al Martin.
It was the first time that Michigan State and Brigham Young University met on the football field this past Saturday. Many thought it would be the ideal game for the Spartans to get back on track after losing the first two games of the Big Ten year to Wisconsin and Indiana. It looked like an out of conference matchup against a team that on paper didn’t seem to stack up to the talent of the Green and White. But, as the old saying in sports goes, "that’s why they play the game.” BYU would top MSU 31 -14, leaving Spartan Nation scratching its head.
