The WKAR original classical music series MSU in Concert can now be heard by music lovers in Michigan's northern lower peninsula! The weekly series featuring Michigan State University concert performances now airs Fridays at 6 p.m. on Classical Interlochen Public Radio (IPR).

Classical IPR can be heard in more than 20 counties, from well above the Mackinac Bridge south to Big Rapids, and from Michigan's west coast to Roscommon.

MSU in Concert, hosted by WKAR's Peter Whorf, includes a weekly hour of recorded concert performances featuring faculty artists, student ensembles, and guests from around the world. MSU in Concert is captured in performance on the MSU campus, including Cook Recital Hall, Fairchild Theatre and Wharton Center Cobb Great Hall.

MSU in Concert now can be heard on Classical IPR at 88.7 FM Interlochen, 94.7 FM Traverse City,  88.5 FM Mackinaw City, and 100.9 FM East Jordan/Charlevoix. The progam debuted on those stations on Jan. 12, 2018.

MSU in Concert first debuted in the capital region on WKAR 90.5 FM East Lansing and in  southwest Michigan on WRCJ 90.9 FM Detroit in April 2017. With the addition of Classical IPR to the broadcast partnership, the program can now be heard across most of Michigan's Lower Penninsula.
