The National Weather Service says an EF-1 tornado in Perry Friday night had peak wind speeds of 95 mph.
The tornado touched down from 7:51 p.m. to 8:03 p.m. There were no injuries reported.
The storm downed tree limbs and caused damage to several outbuildings and residential homes. Some residents lost power.
The Shiawassee County community declared a state of emergency following the storm. For about a day after, residents were asked to limit sewer usage due to power outages and a strain on pumping stations.
Several employees with the city of Owosso's Department of Public Works helped Friday night in the effort to clean up storm debris.
