The Michigan BluesFest is back in Old Town Lansing Friday and Saturday. Our Live Music Friday guest is long-time Lansing keyboard player Mike Skory, who has played with a number of local bands including Root Doctor. He also hosts “Skoryoke” on Thursday nights at The Exchange. He worked on booking acts for the festival and will play Friday with Matchette and Frog.

The Michigan BluesFest is tonight and Saturday in Old Town Lansing, so of course, we’re featuring the blues today on Current State with our Live Music Friday guest, keyboard player and singer Mike Skory. Mike plays with several local bands, and he’s communications coordinator for BluesFest. That means he booked the artists appearing at the festival.

We also talk with MessageMakers founder and President Terry Terry, a leader of the team putting BluesFest on.

Mike Skory sat at the WKAR Studio S Steinway piano to perform for us.
