Matt Watroba is our Live Music Friday guest this week. He’s a folk singer-guitarist-songwriter out of Detroit who frequently works with another former Live Music Friday guest, the Rev. Robert Jones.

Matt Watroba is our Live Music Friday guest today. Along with singing, playing guitar and writing songs, Matt has an extensive background as a radio host. For many years he was on the airwaves of our sister Michigan Public Radio Network station WDET in Detroit, hosting a show called “Folks Like Us.” For a time, he also hosted the national program “Folk Alley,” heard on WKAR-FM 90.5 Sundays at 6.
This weekend, Matt is performing at the Evart Folk Festival in northern lower Michigan.
It’s baseball season, Watroba performs a song he wrote in tribute to the former Tiger Stadium called “They Used to Play Baseball Here.” He also sings "How Will I Leave?" live from WKAR's Studio S.
