Dear Friends,

Sharing diverse stories is the hallmark of public media and something that WKAR commits to all year. In October we were excited to debut the two-hour special, Driving While Black: Race, Space and Mobilityin America. We're bringing that program back this evening for Black History Month. The special chronicles the riveting history and personal experiences of African Americans on the road -- from the advent of the automobile through the seismic changes of the 1960s and beyond.

WKAR Family Film Night returns Thursday evening with a special online screening of Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum. Families are invited to explore along with us as Xavier and the gang meet Rosa Parks and Thurgood Marshall and learn a lesson about how to treat everyone fairly and equally.

Classical listeners will have noticed that WKAR classical host Jody Knol is back on the air this week after a well-deserved break. Welcome back Jody!

Saturday at noon on 90.5, Jody’s weekly Great Lakes Concertsshow features performances from the Jackson Symphony Orchestra and Lansing Symphony Orchestra.

Stay warm and safe,
