Supporting Michigan businesses is a great way to show pride in our state, and it’s a great way to boost the local economy too. The “Buy Nearby” campaign is kicking off soon, and we talk about it with Jim Hallan, the CEO of the Michigan Retailers Association, and local business owner Celeste Saltzman.

We’re inching closer and closer to that time of year when most of us will hit the retail stores and websites to do our holiday shopping. The Michigan Retailers Association is hoping we will remember to spend our dollars at local Michigan businesses, and they’ve created a campaign to encourage us to do so. The “Buy Nearby” program is a call to action to support and celebrate local businesses and communities.
