Your browser doesn’t support HTML5 audio

Our Neighbors in Action segment this week looks at Camp Liberty in Jackson County. It’s a volunteer operation that gives veterans a chance to spend time outdoors enjoying activities like fishing, hunting, hiking and canoeing.

Wednesday on Current State means it’s time for Neighbors in Action, when we feature people and organizations working to make Greater Lansing a better place. Today, we hear about Camp Liberty in Jackson County. The idea behind Camp Liberty is to give veterans dealing with Post-Traumatic Stress a chance to spend time outdoors with activities like hunting, fishing, canoeing and hiking.

Current State speaks with Camp Liberty founder Rick Briggs, a retired U.S. Air Force Major, and Purple Heart Veteran Sean Knudsen, who has been both a participant and a volunteer at Camp Liberty

Current State is looking for more nominations for our “Neighbors In Action” feature. Please help us out and e-mail us your suggestions to currentstate@wkar.org.
