The City Rescue Mission of Lansing is a non-profit that strives to meet the physical and spiritual needs of men, women, and children struggling with homelessness in Michigan's capital area. Over the last year or so, they have made changes and expanded some of their services. Neighbors in Action this week is with Executive Director Mark Criss and Randy Barton, director of men’s ministries.

Homelessness is a problem faced by many individuals and families, so it doesn’t have just one single solution. The City Rescue Mission of Lansing is a non-profit that seeks to meet the needs of people struggling with homelessness and help them find the solutions that will work for them.

Every week for our Neighbor’s in Action segment we feature a local organization working to make Greater Lansing a better place, and today we’re checking back in with City Rescue Mission over a year after they were first on Current State. We talk with executive director Mark Criss and director of men's ministries Randy Barton.

Current State is looking for more nominations for our Neighbors In Action feature. Please help us out and e-mail us your suggestions to currentstate@wkar.org. Put ‘Neighbors in Action’ in the subject line. Or tweet us: @KARCurrentState and tell us a little about why you think they should be featured for the great work they do.
