Members of the Peckham Self-Advocacy team recently met with state Sen. Rick Jones to talk about continued and increased funding for Community Mental Health and other issues important to individual advocates.

For Neighbors in Action this week, we learn about the Self-Advocacy Team at Peckham Inc. The team helps employees work for disability rights.

Peckham Inc. is a nonprofit vocational rehabilitation organization that provides job training opportunities for people with significant disabilities and other barriers to employment.

One division of what they do is their Self-Advocacy Team, where employees who have disabilities play an active role in advocating for disability rights.

For Neighbors in Action today we’re joined by Vocational Services Specialist Stacey Locke, along with Scott Cole, president of the self advocacy team,  and ambassador Sandy Wolfe.
