On Monday night, the Lansing Township Board may vote to re-zone a former golf course. A Grand Rapids company proposes to turn it into a mixed-use area for housing, senior living and businesses.

Tonight at 7:00, the Lansing Township Board may decide whether to re-zone the property formerly known as the Waverly Golf Course.  Click here for the proposal.

The area is currently zoned for single-family homes right now.

But National Capital Investments has other plans for the 121-acre site. Lansing Township supervisor Dion’trae Hayes told WKAR during the "Mondays with the Mayor" segment that she is on board.

“[The site] would include some retail as well as restaurants, a gas station, office businesses but I’m most excited about the residential component," said Hayes. "We’re talking about single family homes, multi-family housing, a senior complex. It’s phenomenal the plan they have for that space so I’m really excited about it.”

Waverly Golf course closed in 2007.
