Social media campaign aims to dissolve Lansing Township

Facebook page screen shot

A small group of grassroots activists has gotten behind an effort to alter the map in Lansing.

It’s established a social media effort specifically to dissolve Lansing Township. Lansing Township resident Joshua Pugh launched a Facebook page recently with that name. He and others -- including Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero -- claim the township model is outdated and doesn't serve the region's needs.

He joins Current State and explains his movement.  Also, Larry Merrill, executive director of the Michigan Townships Association, offers his views.
