It's not often that you're a fan of the World Series-winning team, and safe to say, you're probably not a fan of the newly clad champion Houston Astros. And yet, many Detroit Tigers fans rejoiced last night, a phenomenon explored on today's "Current Sports with Al Martin." A Tiger from 2005-2017, Justin Verlander played no small part in elevating the Astros from underdog to the World Series trophy. Al vocalizes the mentality of Tigers fans watching last night and ties it up with an overarching comparison. Isaac is quick to point out a similar thread from Al's stories of late, but after worries are brushed aside, a review of Game Seven is underway. Then, Chadia Philyaw enters into the studio, and she and Al present a program that's helping African-Americans on Michigan State's campus settle in. My Brother's And Sister's Keeper at Michigan State University, the organization which Philyaw is president of, offers mentorship and community tools for students of different walks of life who could be struggling to acclimate to college. And as Philyaw seeks to do it on MSU's campus, Lansing Catholic opened up a new diversity forum following four of its football players kneeling during the national anthem.
