The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency is working with employers and other organizations, including some that often compete with each other, to help veterans find jobs. The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) was created by Gov. Snyder in 2013 with a goal of improving state services for veterans. Along with health care, education and quality of life, the agency also seeks to improve the employment climate for Michigan veterans.
One of the agency’s newest employment programs is called the Why Michigan? Talent Attraction Team. They work with other state agencies and private employers to visit active duty transition points, where they can make early inroads into attracting men and women here just as they are leaving military service.
