Some published reports say three former Michigan governors are being considered as interim leaders of Michigan State University.

Michigan State President Lou Anna K. Simon's resignation was welcomed by many lawmakers.

Simon stepped down amid criticisms MSU mis-handled the investigation involving Larry Nassar, who was sentenced to 40-to-175 years in prison for molesting girls and women under his care.

In her resignation letter, Simon said the survivors’ accounts are horrific and heartbreaking. Simon said as tragedies are politicized, blame is inevitable.

WKAR Off The Record host Tim Skubick reports former Governor and MSU grad Jim Blanchard is interested in becoming the interim MSU president.

Skubick also reported former governors John Engler and Jennifer Granholm are also being considered.
