Flooding caused by recent rains and snow melt closed some Lansing area roads on Friday.

Emergency crews closed some central Michigan roads because of flooding. The high water is due to rains and snow melt from storms earlier in the week.
The National Weather Service office in Grand Rapids has posted Flood Warnings for the Grand River in Lansing, the Cedar River in East Lansing and Sycamore Creek in Holt until Tuesday evening.
Late Friday morning, East Lansing Police Department posted a picture of flooding along Kalamazoo Street and asked drivers to avoid the area.
Michigan State University reported Chestnut Road between Dem Hall Road and Red Cedar Road. It closed Friday at 4:00 p.m. and will remain shutdown until water levels subside.
MSU also reported Red Cedar Road between the entrance/exit of Lot 62W and Chestnut Road is closed due to flooding.
Additionally, the Ingham County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management closed the following roads until further notice:
-Ottawa Drive & Nakoma Drive intersection
-Hillcrest Avenue between Okemos Road & Seminole Drive
-Nichols Road between Aurelius Road & Eifert Road
-Nichols Road between Eifert Road & Onondaga Road
-Columbia Road between Dietz Road and Haywood Road
-Okemos Road between Central Park Drive & Haslett Road
-Olds Road betwen Cooper Road & Meridian Road
-Wallace Road/Huschke Road between M-43 & Gramer Road
-Waldo Road between Burkley Road & Clark Road
-Linn Road between Meech Road & Dietz Road
-Nims Road between Meridian Road & Fitchburg Road
