An Eaton County judge has sentenced disgraced sports physician Larry Nassar to 40 to 125 years in prison.

Eaton County Judge Janice Cunningham imposed the sentence after three days of survivor testimony.  Just before her announcement, Judge Cunningham afforded Larry Nassar the opportunity to make a brief statement.

“The words expressed by everyone that has spoken, including the parents, have impacted me to...uh, to my innermost core,” Nassar said.  “With that being said, I understand and acknowledge that it pales in comparison to the pain, trauma and emotions that you all are feeling.  It’s impossible to convey the depth and breadth of how sorry am I to each and every one involved.  The visions of your testimonies will forever be present in my thoughts.”

Nassar already faces 60 years in prison on federal child pornography charges, and 40 to 175 years in prison in Ingham County.

The Eaton County sentence will run concurrent to that of Ingham County and consecutive to the federal sentence.
