Last night, Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder gave his fourth State of the State address. He encouraged action on immigration and more support for state schools, among other issues. He also called for more to be done for the state’s working people and claimed he was open to the idea of a tax cut in the state.

Current State spoke with WKAR-TV’s Tim Skubick and Democratic Senate Majority leader Gretchen Whitmer of East Lansing.

Whitmer says on the issue of education, it was "complete malarkey" to say there's been a $660 per pupil increase for schools. She says the state is legally obligated to put those dollars into retirement funds and have not gone into classrooms.
