Since 1968, Cristo Rey Community Center has been working to provide access to food, medical care and counseling for the most vulnerable in the Lansing community. For this week's Neighbors in Action segment, we catch up with Executive Director Joe Garcia.

The Cristo Rey Community Center is a basic needs service-center open to anyone in need. Their focus is on food, medical, and counseling access for low-income, vulnerable populations.

Back in 2013, Joe Garcia had just become the Executive Director of CRCC and he joined us on Current State to talk about the organization.

For our Neighbors in Action segment today, Garcia is back to update us on what’s been happening at Cristo Rey.

Current State is looking for more nominations for our “Neighbors In Action” feature. Please help us out and e-mail us your suggestions to currentstate@wkar.org. Put ‘Neighbors in Action’ in the subject line. Or tweet us: @KARCurrentState and tell us a little about why you think they should be featured for the great work they do.
