Detroit Lions; Brandon Copeland; Kerry Hyder, Michigan State Volleyball; Cathy George; Jim Harbaugh.

The Detroit Lions have only played one preseason game, but have lost two players crucial to their success for the upcoming season. On today's "Current Sports with Al Martin," Al opens the show with a discussion on the injuries to Brandon Copeland and Kerry Hyder and just how much trouble the Lions are in. Al strongly rejects the notion that preseason games are necessary and offerers some solutions. Whether it be not allowing starters to play in preseason games or eliminating preseason games all together. Al then speaks with MSU volleyball coach Cathy George to get her thoughts on an array of subjects including rebounding from a second round exit in the NCAA tourney last year, a team bonding trip the Italy this summer and what it means to her to be just three wins away from 600. To close out the show, Al commends Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh for his comments on Twitter regarding the unfortunate events that took place this past weekend in Charlottesville, VA.
