One question is the axis of today's "Current Sports with Al Martin." Are the Detroit Lions legit this season? After years and years of heartbreak, the Lions looked good in their first two games--accentuated by Monday night's 24-10 win against the New York Giants. But amid the celebratory clamor of callers and commenters, Al issues a stern warning to "pump the brakes!" Al goes through the game from last night, but insists despite the many positives, it's too early to tell. Engineer Isaac Constans agrees, but takes exception to a perceived slight against Giants' quarterback Eli Manning. Debate ensues. Then, what does Michigan State football coach Mark Dantonio think about his squad's chances against Notre Dame? Dantonio looked ahead in his press conference to the implications of the Spartans' third game of the year and was quick to hop to the defense of Brian Kelly, coach of the Fighting Irish. Al and Isaac, however, believe that Kelly's seat is hotter than his team. Closing out the show, local Lansing fight promoter Ron Deleon laments the hung-jury boxing decision in the Canelo Alvarez-Gennady Golovkin fight.
