On this episode of "Current Sports with Al Martin," Al has a wealth of interviews to share. Eastern Michigan University has decided to cut four sports teams from their athletic department, and MSU economics professor Ronald Fisher chimes in on the decision. Fisher teaches a class called "The Social Science of Sports," and provides good input on university budgets as related to sports programs. The next interview comes from Ira Childress, athletic director at Okemos High School. He talks about funding for high school athletics and the challenges of operating a high school athletics program with low budgets. We end the show with a snippet of an interview between WKAR's Scott Pohl and Keith Gave. Gave talks about five Russian hockey players who tried to make their way to the United States in the '90s. It's wire-to-wire action here on "Current Sports," so sit back and let us do the talking.
