Votes are rolling in during today’s primary elections, but how is voter turnout?

Voter turnout is typically low during city primary elections, but it may be too early to tell whether this year is the same.

Ingham County Clerk Barb Byrum and Jackson County Elections Director Colleen Garety both say they have no indication whether turnout is high or low this year.

Eaton County Clerk Diana Bosworth says she’s hearing turnout is low.

“I don’t have any actual numbers at this time, I’ll have more information of course as the polls close. I’m getting an indication that they’re kind of light today, but no real numbers yet,” she says.

Polls close at 8 tonight. Follow our reports here on WKAR.org and the WKAR News Facebook page for all updated results and reaction.
