Interim MSU President John Engler will lead his first regular meeting of the Board of Trustees on Friday.

As the Larry Nassar controversy continues to swirl over MSU’s oversight of the former sports doctor, with widespread calls for Trustees and President Engler to resign, the board will consider several personnel actions. They include the annual one-year rollover of Mark Dantonio’s contract to coach the football team, extending his contract until January of 2024.

Other actions include giving Clinical and Translational Sciences Director Andrea Amalfitano the additional title of Interim Dean of the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine, with a change of salary to $325,000; making board secretary and Vice President Bill Beekman Interim Athletic Director, with a $400,000 salary; and the appointment of Carol Viventi to the new position of Vice President and Special Counsel to the President, with a salary of $250,000.

The meeting is at 9 a.m. in the Hannah Administration Building board room.
