Public to Meet Meridian Police Chief Candidates

The Meridian Township Police Chief semi- finalists will all attend a public meet-and-greet today.

Chief Dave Hall announced his retirement April 3rd after 40 years of service.

A total of 31 applications were received. The new police chief will likely begin in July.

The semi-finalists are assistant Meridian Township Chief Kenneth Plaga; Albion Director of Public Safety Scott Kipp; retired Lansing Lieutenant Larry Klaus; Burton Chief Thomas Osterholzer; retired Michigan State Police Post Commander Joseph Thomas; and Decatur Chief Thomas VanDerWoude.

The public can meet the candidates from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Meridian Township Municipal Building on Marsh Road.
