Carol Viventi, MSU Vice President and Special Counsel to Interim President John Engler, has gone on a medical leave and is not expected to return to work until at least Labor Day.

A statement issued by MSU says Viventi suffered a minor stroke last weekend.

According to University spokesperson Emily Guerrant, there are no plans for an interim in her position at this point.

Viventi was Engler’s first appointment as interim president in February.
