Governor Rick Snyder wants a “no regrets energy future" for Michigan by 2025.  That was how he summarized his administration’s long-awaited energy “blueprint” which was released yesterday. The Governor’s recommendations come after nearly a year’s worth of public meetings around Michigan, at which citizens and groups aired their views.   Those discussions were summarized in a series of four reports Snyder used to create his blueprint.

The blueprint comes before next year’s legislative debate that expected to include a proposal to hike the state’s renewable energy standard and a call to increase competition in Michigan’s electric industry, among others.

James Clift, policy director for the Michigan Environmental Council, calls the plan an "excellent framework for moving forward for Michigan."
