Charlottesville, Virginia; Detroit Tigers; Zach Berridge; MSU Football; High School Football

On today's "Current Sports with Al Martin," Al is excited that high football will be starting in just nine days.  Al starts the show by discussing the Detroit Tigers.  Ian Kinsler, second baseman for the Tigers also made headlines by voicing his displeasure with the way Monday's loss to the Texas Rangers was called by long time umpire Angel Hernandez. Al goes on a rant about the percentage of correct calls umpires make in the MLB.  Al switches gears and solemnly discusses the unfortunate events that have been taking place in Charlottesville, Virginia.  He salutes LeBron James, Chris Long, and other athletes for speaking out against those events and standing up for what is right. Towards the end of the show Al welcomes WILX TV10 sports reporter and anchor, Zach Berridge.  Al and Zach discuss MSU football's upcoming season and key players.  Zach gives his prediction on how many games the Spartans will win and ends by providing a preview of the upcoming high school football season.  To end the show, Current Sports intern Jacob Herbert calls in to say what the internship experience has taught him.
