It's time for Detroit to bounce back. On "Current Sports with Al Martin," the NBA season returns to action, with Al and engineer Isaac Constans swapping takes on the opening slate of games from last night and looking ahead to the Detroit Pistons' return to the city. Just from the first few match-ups, so much has already changed. And with a brief breakaway from NBA conversation, Al starts to glance ahead to the college football games of this weekend, with a season-defining game for the Michigan Wolverines. As they take on Penn State, hear the statistical and matchup predictions that will shape the result of the Big Ten battle. Then, while Isaac theorizes on why NFL ratings may be down, Al's opposing logic will be heard tomorrow. Starting the second half of the show, basketball gets a local look. James Edwards III, Detroit Pistons beat writer for The Athletic, joins Al to look ahead to the Pistons season. While the team is revamped, for many players this is a make-or-break season ahead. James looks at some of the players who will determine the Pistons' success or failure. Closing the show, Al and Isaac complete their expectations for the basketball season ahead.
