Ferguson, Mosallam Win MSU Board Positions

Voters are keeping an incumbent and adding a newcomer to the Michigan State University Board of Trustees.

Republican trustee Melanie Foster has conceded the race to Democrats Joel Ferguson and Brian Mosallam.

Ferguson currently serves as the body's chairman.  He says he respects both candidates.

"Brian is a class act," he says. "He will add a lot to the university.  And we lost a lot losing Melanie.  They both put Michigan State first."

Foster currently serves as vice-chairperson of the board.

Ferguson and Mosallem will begin new eight-year terms on January 1.
