LANSING, MI – The organizer of a controversial "cannabis caravan" scheduled to visit to Lansing next weekend says he's begun meeting with city officials to address their concerns. Jason Christ is the Executive Director of the Montana Caregivers Network. He says officials are most concerned about large quantities of marijuana at the event.
"It makes the City Attorney and the Police Chief uncomfortable" Christ says, "so what we're gonna do is we're gonna work with them. And we're gonna find a happy medium, where there's a very, very small amount that our caregivers will be able to have. They won't be able to have 2 ounces per patient. We want to work with our local law enforcement."
Christ says the "cannabis caravan" will give patients the chance to meet with a licensed physician and be issued a referral for medical marijuana. Some medical professionals are concerned the mobile clinic won't spend enough time exploring patient histories and records.
The event is scheduled for Sunday the 21st.
