EAST LANSING, MI – Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio has left the hospital, less than three days after having a mild heart attack.
The athletic department confirmed that Dantonio was released around 3 p.m. Tuesday. He was hospitalized shortly after the Spartans beat Notre Dame 34-31 in overtime Saturday night on a fake field goal that worked for a touchdown.
Offensive coordinator Don Treadwell is taking over in Dantonio's indefinite absence for No. 25 Michigan State, which faces Northern Colorado on Saturday.
