McGrady feeling healthy after arriving in Detroit

By AP

AUBURN HILLS, MI – Tracy McGrady says he feels healthy and at ease after knee problems ruined his last two seasons.

McGrady is with the Detroit Pistons now and will compete for playing time with Richard Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince, who are trying to rebound from their own injury-plagued seasons. The Pistons went 27-55 in 2009-10.

McGrady met with reporters at media day Monday and says he went through "a lot of dark nights" while trying to recover.

He was limited to 65 games over the last two seasons, and he struggled to make an impact last season with New York. He started and played in 24 games with the Knicks, averaging just 9.4 points.

McGrady says if he hadn't felt better this offseason, his career might have been over.
