The Indiana Fever picked Caitlin Clark in the WNBA draft

A MARTÍNEZ, HOST:

Good morning, I'm A Martínez. Caitlin Clark has got the fever - actually, the Indiana Fever has got Caitlin Clark. College basketball's all-time leading scorer was selected by the franchise as the first pick in the WNBA draft. The hope is that Clark's popularity can lead to more viewership and buzz for the nearly 30-year-old league. Now, before all that, though, Clark has to help her team make the playoffs for the first time in seven years. The Fever's season opener is May 14 against the Connecticut Sun.
