The groom wore a Batman shirt while the bride chose the Flash. Clint and Melanie Salmi are giving marriage a second try with help from an Upper Peninsula comic book shop.

The couple exchanged vows Wednesday at Black Ice Comics in Houghton. The Daily Mining Gazette reports that shop owner Shana Porteen became an ordained minister for the event.

The Salmis have been together for 12 years, including a previous three-year marriage. They enjoy comics and chose the shop for the wedding for a few reasons.

Clint says comic books helped a son improve his reading. The couple also wanted to give a boost to the owner after a recent flood.

The vows for their second marriage fit the setting: "Every superhero has a rebirth story. This union begins ours."
