An ex-Michigan State University medical student accused of killing at least 12 greyhound puppies has pleaded guilty to charges carrying a penalty of up to four years in prison.Andrew Thompson pleaded guilty Monday to three counts of animal killing. Ingham County Circuit Judge Paula Manderfield has scheduled his sentencing for June 13 in Lansing.
In exchange for Thompson's plea to three felony counts, prosecutors have dropped other charges against him.
Authorities say Thompson killed the dogs in East Lansing and Meridian Township.
Michigan State's College of Osteopathic Medicine suspended Thompson after his arrest last summer.
