Gold medal gymnast Jordyn Wieber embraces life after competition

Current State speaks with Gold Medal-winning gymnast Jordyn Wieber of DeWitt about her life after deciding to stop competing.

This year’s Rio summer Olympic Games will rekindle memories for many in mid-Michigan.  Four years ago, the Lansing area became transfixed when Dewitt gymnast Jordyn Wieber competed in the London games, winning a gold in team gymnastics. The year before, the 20-year old was crowned world champion in all around competition.

Last year, Jordyn Wieber announced her retirement from elite gymnastics to focus on college. She’s been studying psychology at UCLA.

On a visit back home last summer, Current State spoke with  Jordyn Wieber about her life after competitive gymnastics.
