FEC Weighs Fate of Independent Political Groups

The Federal Election Commission begins hearings on whether to regulate independent political groups. Republicans and reform advocates want to shut down these groups, which are spending millions of dollars to promote Democrat Sen. John Kerry's presidential bid in battleground states such as Ohio.
