Legal Options Narrow for Terri Schiavo's Parents

A federal judge rejects for a second time a request by Terri Schiavo's parents to restore their daughter's feeding tube.

The U.S. Supreme Court and Florida judges rebuffed the parents' appeals Thursday, leaving them with few legal options.

Schiavo, 41, has been without food and water for a full week. Attorneys for her parents report that she is now showing signs of dehydration. Doctors have said she could live one to two weeks without a feeding tube.
